Im going to be really honest here. There's been alot of ladies having the experience where the pap smear does hurt. Especially if their doctor doesnt listen to them. Every woman has different pelvic floors and sizes. For this procedure: Always ask to see what the speculum looks like, ask what the procedure will be like, have them demonstrate the procedure and show you via pictures or videos, and look at their speculum sizes. The smallest one is the Pediatric Speculum. Most doctors and nurses will not have this size on hand, so always ask for a specialist that will have the full range set. Sedation is also offerred for this procedure. Make sure your doctors or nurses are understanding and empathetic. You can always say no to this procedure. If any if your doctors or nurses make you feel uncomfortable or pressure you guys for a pap smear when you are not ready, WALK AWAY. Other than that, yes. This procedure can save lives. I just wish women were treated better for it. And thankyou so much for sharing this video. It's charming, and kind of helps to ease anxiety.

So appreciate you opening up. I was in the same type of situation a few years back and I’ve been so mad at myself and felt like I couldn’t complain because I finally gave in. But I fought him off for over an hour, like even crawled on top of his counter tops. And I just got so tired I just gave in. I only 5’5 and this dude was like 6’8 I just couldn’t win. The next day I had bruises all over me. 😢.

I know you posted this a couple of days ago so not sure if you’ll see this message but I’ve moved home a couple of times- I’ve always been fully employed and I’m in my 30s but for whatever reason needed to go home. I took those moments not as a setback but as a time to spend with my parents as they are getting older and although I have always seen them pretty regularly when I’ve not lived with them- I didn’t get to to do the day to day things like have meals, watch Jeopardy, help them in the garden, learn new recipes from my mom and so much more. Moving home doesn’t have to feel like you’re going backwards- I’ve always come out of those periods at my parents with more knowledge and a stronger foundation for the future!! Society has taught us that going home is the wrong direction but for me it’s always been the right one ❤
